1. About these terms
These are proposed pre-launch terms for the CoRide app and website. Operator identity, official support details and release-specific terms are still being finalised. Viewing these drafts does not record acceptance. Final terms and the acceptance process must be confirmed before public launch.
CoRide helps users coordinate shared journeys already planned by a host and contribute towards their costs. The current service is intended for commute cost-sharing; it does not itself supply a vehicle or driver. Describing the product this way does not determine its legal classification or remove obligations under applicable transport law.
2. Eligibility and accounts
Use CoRide only if you are at least 18 and can lawfully use the service. Supply accurate account, workplace and vehicle details; use only a phone number and work email you are authorised to use. Keep sign-in codes and account access private.
Work-email verification confirms access to that email; it is not an employer endorsement, background check or guarantee of another person’s identity or conduct. Do not impersonate someone, create misleading accounts or bypass verification and access restrictions.
3. Host and rider responsibilities
Hosts must be legally permitted to drive, be authorised to use the vehicle, and maintain required licence, registration, insurance and roadworthiness. Only offer seats that can be used safely. Check that the proposed cost-sharing and route comply with applicable rules and insurance terms.
Riders and hosts should agree on pickup details, arrive on time, wear required seat belts or helmets, and treat one another respectfully. Do not drive while impaired, harass or discriminate, carry unlawful items, or pressure anyone into an unsafe journey. You may decline or cancel a journey you consider unsafe. In an emergency, contact local emergency services; CoRide is not an emergency-response service.
4. Requests, confirmations and availability
A match or seat request is not a confirmed journey. Follow the booking status shown in the app: the host can accept or decline a request, and payment may be required after acceptance. Confirm the pickup, date and time with the other participants.
Availability, route estimates and arrival times are not guaranteed. Internet access, map accuracy, participant actions and third-party services can affect a trip. Website route illustrations and savings estimates are not live seat availability or binding price quotes.
5. Contributions and payments
The app calculates a capped per-seat contribution from route distance and vehicle type. Review the amount before requesting or paying. Hosts cannot set an arbitrary price through the current ride-offer flow. Do not use CoRide to demand undisclosed extras or turn an ordinary shared commute into an unauthorised commercial service.
Where enabled, in-app payments are handled by Razorpay and subject to its checkout terms. An app confirmation must be checked against the booking’s actual payment status. The current Wallet screen is a transaction history, not a promise of a stored-value account or automatic host payout. Settlement arrangements must be confirmed before paid public operation.
6. Cancellations and refunds
The host or guest can cancel a booking while its status permits cancellation. Cancel promptly so others can make alternative plans. A completed booking cannot be cancelled through the current cancellation action.
For a paid booking, the current cancellation flow attempts a refund of the booked contribution through the payment provider. A cancelled status does not itself confirm that the refund succeeded. Bank/provider processing times vary. Read Cancellation & refunds for the current process and support limitations; no fixed refund deadline or cancellation penalty is promised by these drafts.
7. Content and acceptable use
Only upload profile images, vehicle information and messages you are entitled to share. Keep messages and ratings relevant, truthful and respectful. CoRide needs to store and display this information to operate the features you use; you retain your rights in your own content.
Do not scrape personal information, misuse another rider’s phone number, spam, distribute malware, attack the service, evade access controls or use the platform for unlawful activities. A participant may save or disclose information they receive, so avoid sharing unnecessary sensitive details.
8. Changes, suspension and responsibility
Features may change or be unavailable during testing. Access may need to be restricted where necessary to address abuse, security risks or legal obligations. A public release must provide a support and review channel for affected users.
CoRide cannot guarantee another participant’s conduct, the accuracy of every user submission or uninterrupted third-party services. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, or attempts to excuse obligations imposed on CoRide by applicable law.
9. Privacy, questions and future updates
Read the Privacy Policy for the current data practices and Data & account deletion for available controls and limitations. Account closure is separate from logging out and uninstalling the app.
Official support details, operator identity and dispute-contact arrangements are pending. During private testing, raise questions with the person or team who provided access. Any final jurisdiction, dispute process and material revisions must be reviewed and published before public launch; these drafts do not impose an invented arbitration process or forum.
